Photo Friday: Blur

Thank God I have something for Photo Friday this week! Lately it has been a bit difficult to find anything fitting. This photo of Fintan, just-a-blur-on-the-dance-floor, was taken at his and Steve's wedding last May. I had pumped up the ISO to 1600 so that I wouldn't have to use a flash. In addition to a nice grain it also meant you got a nice bit of blur.

This is the door to a sauna on the edge of lake somewhere in Lapland. The wood in all the buildings had lovely textures and colours from it's exposure to the elements. Taken with the Canon EOS300D.

Photo Friday: Sport

This was taken at wolfshagen in the Harz Mountains in Germany in May with the Canon EOS300D. The local swimming pool had been cleaned and made ready to be opened for the summer and the opening was going ahead, despite the fact that it was less than 10 C and thunderstorms intermittently interrupted proceedings.

Photo Friday: Silhouette

I like the way the frame is the silhouette instead of the other way around in this photo. It was taken last May with the now-extinct Canon G2, in Sicily from our bedroom window in the little farmhouse we rented.

On a clear day you could see the Aeolian Isles from this window. Thats got nothng to do with Photo Friday, just thought I'd throw it in. As you can see it was a horrible place to stay. I highly recommend it. The food was terrible too. And the jasmine, the orange grove, the hosts, the beaches, the wine.......

Photo Friday: Reflections

The ears have it. (And the toes, fingers, feet etc etc........) Although in retrospect I think the focus should have been the other way around. (So easy to see afterwards!) Although Jacob is still 'unformed' in many ways so maybe its apt this way too.

This was taken with the Canon EOS 300D while they slept and I was giggling at the mirroring going on here.

Photo Friday: Family

This was taken with our brand spanking new Canon EOS 300D a few weeks ago. It was before I had had a chance to read the manual and play with all the settings so it was a unadventurous photo technically. I do like the way everyone is interacting with Jacob looking at me (he loves a camera!), Ron looking at his father and Wim looking at Jacob. Its three generations of men with weirdly long toes.
